Do you remember that bloke from The Fugees and his only role was to say 'one time' every now and then? Nice work if you can get it!

One time? There's been two. The last one I don’t even count for real. Do you?

Sorry but this is laughable. First you are arguing there is systematic racism in the US and now you’re saying the US offers more opportunity than other cultures. A few months ago I read ‘ The Unwinding of America’ I can assure you what’s described there is not happening in many other countries. The land of opportunities is a mythical notion that died halfway through the 1960’s They don't have to be mutually exclusive. Every kid in America, or used to be, was told they could become President of the United States and now that includes women. Except for the Bushes and Kennedy, almost every President since Truman comes from working class or lower middle class backgrounds. Clinton and Obama both came from single-parent households. They ARE mutually exclusive. This is exactly what’s being argued in this thread.

well, they TELL kids they can. HRC came pretty close and Warren never gets tired of stooping down and telling them that running for Prez is what girls do. I really wish we'd get this one behind us but I'm afraid the first female president of the u.s. will most likely be a white, Anti-Abortion, Pro-Christian, gun owning business leader with sweat shops in foreign lands. I don't think so. I remember Shirley Chisholm running and Geraldine Ferraro as Mondale's running mate. I don't think the right would dig that at all, but. . . Nikki Haley might have a chance.

I hope you're right. look at most female politicians - they are either "Den Mother" types or "I need to have bigger balls than a man because I'm a female politician" type. Nikki Haley & Joni Earnst tend to be both. they look like they'll pop off to the kitchen but they talk like they're packing heat.
my Dem senators always talk all tough about death penalty and shit. look at Hillary and her "super-predators" thing. Dems got the first African American President I think Repubs really want this milestone and what better way to do that than with a right wing lunatic who looks like they'll bake you a cake for your birthday?
Palin scared the SHIT out of me. she was the PRE-Trump in a lot of ways. she didn't look like she'd pop into the kitchen but it showed that the party was perfectly willing to give the nuclear football to somebody who had no fucking business being near the damned thing.

Never understood Palin's quietness since Trump's ascendence. Is she a Never Trumper? Did she still draw crowds prior to Covid?

as far as I know she was an early supporter. she was making less & less sense, had her "mainstream moment" on "masked singer" and then her soap opera took a turn for the worse.
good riddance.

Besides her ascendance and Fox descent, I'll never forget that basketball player, Glen Rice, said he slept with her when Univ. of Michigan went to Alaska for the Great Alaskan Shootout tournament when she was a local sports reporter.

Every major News Outlet has interviews with that guy. what he has to say is disturbing and worth listening to but why in the WORLD would you choose the Twitter feed of a well known scumbag like Brandon Farley to share?
You FOLLOW that guy?

John McWhorter's take down of DiAngelo's White Fragility is the best deconstruction I've read of it.
