This bloke is playing solo acoustic guitar every night on the Norwegian fjord cruise I'm on. He's pretty bloody good, literally just playing requests, which are coming from all kinds of eras and genres. This is one of his own songs, which he's played after someone googled him and requested it. Get some ‘Smash’ while you’re ashore. It’s like a salty corn snack covered in chocolate. Brilliant stuff.

If you have twenty-odd minutes to spare, here's a far too short documentary on the far too short-lived music TV show Shindig! with no complete songs and possibly more talking head interviews than actual performance footage. But the talking heads include Doug Sahm (!), Flo & Eddie, Rick Derringer, Leslie Gore, Mark Lindsay (Paul Revere & The Raiders), Dewey Martin (Buffalo Springfield), and Jackie DeShannon, and what performance footage there is - almost all live, not mimed - is pretty thrilling. And if those outside the US want a taste of what almost all American Top 40 DJs sounded like for decades, look no further than host Jimmy O'Neill.
(Odd, useless trivia: dancer/choreographer David Winters, another interviewee, was Iron Butterfly's first manager.)
