Can I add that Allen isn't actually guilty of anything, unlike Polanski who fessed up then fled like a coward. He hasn't been found guilty of a crime in a court of law, true. But I'd say a 56 year-old guy starting a relationship with a high school student to whom he's been a stepfather-figure since she was eight is a pretty big moral transgression. As Dougie says/suggests, he was never a "stepfather figure". Woody and Mia never lived together; he barely even knew Soon-Yi for most of that time; she was probably about 20 when they did (at Mia's suggestion!) start spending a little time together. I'm not saying there isn't anything, umm, awkward about a middle-aged man taking up with his erstwhile girlfriend's adopted daughter, but we might as well get the facts straight.
Here's the article Dougie mentioned:

so, long story short... "stupid girl" either makes you squirm or it don't.
you either think Woody is a perv or you don't.
"shiny happy people" is a great song the whole family can enjoy.
doesn't that about cover it?

Singers often stand up and sing the song they wrote. You can take potshots at them. Not the same thing with films at all. Just wait till Keef in a moment of drunken vengefulness releases a tape of Jagger talking about grabbing a lasses fanny in 1989. "'ere, Keef! Do you remember that tiiii-iiiime I grabbed that woman's pu-ssaay at Elton John's par-taaay?"

As for "Stupid Girl" - no, it's not Jagger's most impressive or sophisticated lyric, and yes, it's perhaps meaner than it needs to be. Nonetheless, I've known and observed girls/women that fit that lyric reasonably well; I would bet that all of you have, too. I guarantee that most if not all of the girls/women in the Stones' mid-'60s fanbase did, and I have to assume they didn't take the song personally... aside from maybe the ones the song actually described, in which cases it might (hypothetically) have prompted some self-reflection. So is it actually misogynistic? If a woman sang something equally vitriolic about a particular man, would we assume that she hated all men, or just one in particular?

It's a type he's singing about.
They exist in both sexes.

If it was written about a particular individual, I would argue that’s it’s not misogynistic. It’s personal, unpleasant maybe, but not a generalisation.

But Charlie this type of lyric is almost a mini genre within The Stones catalogue, so that has to be considered too rather than treating it as a one off observational song.
