No working class in the 14th century! Anyway, the Black Death killed roughly 40% of the population of England, but within 100 years the feudal system was over and people enjoyed a wage rise during the 15th that wouldn't get so high again until the 19th century. Easy come, easy go. Did you get this info from the Jacob Rees Mogg hardback "Conservatism as a changing force for good through the ages" ? Or was it Anne Widdecombe's "How voting ruined everything" bookie wook?

I'm not sure what you are getting at, beyond mild sarcasm.
The unintended consequence of the Black Death provided power to labourers and serfs across Europe, with the notable exception of France.
England enjoyed a significant economic boom through most of the 15th century, which slowly ground to a halt during the 16th and the growth of towns.

The unintended consequence of the Black Death...
Unintended by whom?

Yeah, likewise. I'll be happy if I can have a band practice again sometime before I forget how to play an instrument altogether.

Well...cheap return flights from Edinburgh, Glasgow or Manchester to Italy over Easter are going for less than £50, so I might book now and if Brits are still stopped from travelling there next April, I won't have lost too much.

Kids today are very well behaved, in the main. I called my nephew 'Goody Two-Shoes' the other day - to some amusement. But he really IS! works hard at uni, doesn't swear, doesn't drink a whole lot, doesn't do any recreational drugs. He's the sweetest kid but a few wild years might give him and his generation a youth to remember (or forget!). It seems like kids today are far more accepting of other "different" kids, and seem more willing as a group to defend people who want to let their freak flags fly; I think the flip side of the coin is that there seems to be less peer pressure, or at least less peer pressure to engage in destructive behavior. Or, maybe I'm just saying that because I have a teen at home, and it's some wishful thinking on my part.

No, I think you're right.
When me and my mates used to go out together when we were 19, we'd all go the pub to get hammered, rip the piss out of each other mercilessly, then after a couple of hours stagger off home, committing some wanton act of vandalism on the way. We KNEW how to have fun!

At the same time though, I feel it’s like relativism going too far. Do things really matter anymore? With facebook never too far away, what’s weird anymore? Look, here’s a guy who believes he’s a bear! No, you’re not strange thinking you’re a Panda.

I can't speak for the US, but as far as the UK is concerned there's a lot of rose tinted spectacles here. Teach in an average UK school and I think some of you would be genuinely shocked at a lot of the behaviour.
