Match of the round.
So much love in "Clean Up Woman". One of the best picks this entire cup.

B flirts with something without quite being anything and you gotta have something if you're going to bring out a flute. A is the path more travelled, but for good reason: a lazy pick, but a great song.

Sopwith Camel were one of the early SF bands, the vid says 1973 but this sounds much earlier. It's a ghostly, sweet thing with the right amount of restraint. Right place, right time, and this could BLOWE MY MINDE
Anyway I'm going for it because I like it, and it needs the vote - the Betty Wright song is of course fine but one fuck of a lazy choice

I almost agree with APE on this one, except for the fact that I find B kind of unexciting, and while it may sound a bit earlier than 1973, it definitely sounds very post-psych, and frankly a bit dated no matter when it came out. It's pleasant enough, but there's just no heat rising from it. It's like musical cooked carrots - it's fine, but there's just not much you can do with it. Sufficient nutrition if you just have to eat, but no flavor.
And as much as I hate to reward A it's just so clearly the better song here. And it's not like this place is littered with Betty Wright threads or anything.

Completely disagree with the above. B's selection is full of flavour, albeit the flavour of mysterious eastern spices. The strength of this track is in its lazy, hypnotic groove and beguiling layers of instrumentation. It creates a wonderfully hazy, sensual and atmospheric track. You can almost smell the eucalyptus trees through the afternoon heat. Really distinctive and whoever picked it has come up with one of the best tracks in the competition, so cheers. A is a really good record, but one I've heard too often over the years so it's lost a bit of magic for me.

I wish I lived in a world where A was hackneyed and worn out. I wish Sopwith Camel's drugs had been either a little stronger or not quite as strong.

If B was purely instrumental I could have voted for it, but the lack of melody in the vocal parts and the lack of substance in the singing make the track fail to achieve enough height to beat A.
Which incidentally looks to me a less lazy pick than choosing a random track from Electric Warrior or After the Goldrush.

I reckon the problem some people have with B is that it flies perilously close to 70s easy listening rock territory; it's got a relaxed vibe, but also an enjoyable shifting groove. A is a tune i love, but it's not as interesting a pick right here.
