We have three cats now, all rescue cats. This is Snowball...  The matriarch of the family - 13 years old this month. Adopted in Hong Kong 12 years ago. Her right eye has always had a bit of a discharge problem, a legacy of a tear duct problem as a kitten. She is a beautiful cat though, a real people cat; loves to snuggle and sit with you, and will jump on a stranger's lap as soon as they step through the door. We had a plumber come once and Snowball fell asleep in his tool bag after he put it down for a while. This is Vanilla...  11 years old, adopted in HK 10 years ago. If she knows you Vanilla is a very affectionate and loving cat, but she is very wary of strangers, especially unknown men. She is the most 'meowy' of the cats, very communicative, but a gentle soul who loves pats. And this is Mochi...  About 1.5 years old, adopted in Dec. '19 here in Brisbane. The cheeky kitten of the household, always getting up to mischief. Is a terror to the geckos that dare to enter, and loves to chase the old cats around. They ignore her as much as possible. Our blue tiled bowl became her fave sleeping place for a while, got this nice shot.  We also have two dogs, but that's for another thread.  |

What's the attitude like to cats over there? appalling. like G says, the thought of strays roaming the streets seems archaic, but in spain it is a reality. dogs are very popular here, but unfortunately they have to be a pure breed. i find the situation upsetting. |

Was it deliberate that you went for cats with similar coats Fange? Yes, it was my girls' choice. Zoe picked Snowball out at the HK cat adoption place all those years ago, and after that both Zo and Amy have picked calico cats when we thought of adopting more. |
