The thing is when she turned up she looked way too clean for the usual standard of stray. I noticed her pads were very soft and she didn't smell at all. I asked all around the village but no one claimed her. She was just dumped I think.

Mochi at repose. She has a slightly angry resting face which can be most amusing at times.

This week, start of next week, I have to bring our cat to the vets and get a rabies shot and a notice of vet inspection to bring out cat into Oregon. And I have to get a carrier for her. Shit, Oregon should feel lucky to have us. Just one more thing to wrap up in the next week and a half.

View AttachmentThis is the kitten that just turned up while I was sitting outside. She jumped on my shoulders and has stayed for the past two weeks. She is seen here by her favourite window.
She's a beauty (they all are). This photo is from August last year - a kitten that kept popping up at the window of our beach house:
And here she is at home just this morning:
So there will be kitten pics in a couple of weeks!

Tuxies are the greatest! I've loved all our cats, of course, but Jack and Roscoe both had really 'big' personalities. Both rascals, and often total pains in the ass, but also very, very sweet. Jack was the most intelligent cat I've ever known, Roscoe the funniest.

Terrible news to report. Today one of the feral Tom cats got into the bedroom and killed all 5 of our kittens. Our mama cat looks lost.

Apparently they do it to stop any rival spreading its gene pool and to bring the female back on heat quicker. I haven't seen my wife so upset for donkeys, she loved them so much, three weeks old and their eyes had just opened . We feel bad because we never noticed him coming in. Nature is cruel to witness sometimes.

Me either. Because I grew up in a semi-rural area, people would drop off cats and kittens and they'd end up feral. There was a feral family living in our yard and my dad eventually got them rounded up and took them to the animal shelter. Except one. He coaxed it onto our deck with food and water until it eventually came inside. He had it for 13-14 years and it became his companion after my mom died. He said that the cat saved his life.
