Very tight match for me as I really like both. There are Ayers tracks I'd go to before this one and B is a selection from an artist who is a bit overlooked these days, so a marginal swing for A. Easily the best tie of the round though.

bloody hell, i would have bet good money on the ayers track being one of yours, G!
there has been quite a lot of covert activity in this cup.

Never keen about his-hop, but A is the kind I can listen all the way through, if only because I'm a nice guy and try to respect fellow preludiners, at least until comment time.
B was also new for me, but that's the kind of thing I'm here for, besides the fun. Good pick, duly noted.

A's groove is my kind of groove... B's much less so.

A's one of my favourite pop tracks of the last few years, and I figured a bit of Barry White sampling would've gone down well with the Mojo masses, but it still appears to be teetering on a knife edge. To be fair to the ABSOLUTE CUNTS who'd vote against one of my picks, the lyrics are pretty atrocious at times, but there's something about the whole sound with that phasing effect that just sends shivers down my spine, it's such a massive sound, but kinda fragile, too. I don't understand why this wasn't a mega-selling worldwide hit, to be honest.
I'm sure something off this album gets picked in every cup, but it's not actually too bad, even though it's not my cup o char, I kinda get this in someway. I guess the closest thing I like is Fela Kuti, and I could definitely go off on a tangent to something like this.
Anyway, I don't like voting for my own picks unless the other track is fairly atrocious, so I'll just step aside and abstain. See it as me being magnaminous, or see it as a wanker hoping to game the system and garner some sympathy votes.

How come you always reveal your picks?

I don't see why not. Makes it easier to talk about 'em. It's usually fairly obvious.

Thing is, if everyone did it, it would spoil the fun a bit.

I wouldn't have thought so. Hearing the new songs, or contrast of songs is the fun bit, it doesn't really matter who picked em. If everyone objects, I'll stop.

I'm not that bothered and I don't want to tell you what to do. I was just a bit curious that's all, but no worries!

Always thought it was cute that ol’ Rodders named himself after an arboriculturist.
