And the worldview I want is a truthful one. If you are not hip by now that ALL the MSM are huge liars then you are lost, a zombie, a cog in their machine. By what the bastards do say and especially by what they don't say make them utter, utter liars. OTOH, The alt news guys I enjoy are just humans doing their best to help me make sense of all the crap I'm told by the MSM. Some do suck. But there are special ones who actually do the jobs the MSM are supposed to do - but are paid not to. leads to anti- vaccine dopes, climate change deniers and so on. And I'm generalizing? Clearly you're one of the lost. And I will concede the MSM does report some stuff well like car accidents, fires, the weather, recipes, sports but when it comes to wars, politics, honest corporate reporting, and you know what, they LIE.

G's salient point about investigative journalism is the nail on the head. For proper journalism to take place, journalists must be supported "in the field", often for months at a time. It is simply not possible to do that sort of thing unless you somehow have some sort of wealthy benefactor.
However, I will say that places like the Guardian and the New York Times, both seen as foundational "towers of truth" in the newspaper industry, are unfortunately seeing less and less worthwhile journalism because of institutional ideology rotting them from within.

In my view, every single broadcaster has an agenda. To be properly informed, it's good to see (actively) hear all angles and decipher for yourself what you can/should take away from it.

The thing is. If the BBC lie then there is at least a good chance that untrustworthy or factless reports would ultimately be found out or face some sort of accountability. A weightlifter and grocery store owner who can prove that it was a missile and not a plane that hit the twin towers faces none of this. Why is the outcry always aimed at the BBC etc when we Facebook , the reverend Billy vanderfield and truth radio jock Frank "Mr USA Kilgore seemingly not really a problem.

Just back from Morrisons (I rarely go because it's an old-folks hangout and it's hellish just getting around the shop) and for the first time I noticed prices have gone up on things I buy regularly. 10p, 20p, 40p extra on quite a few things.
Brexit, right? 'cos of import duty.
So there's yer despair right there. 'switch off' my left cod

It's the worst supermarket in Whitehaven, but I know that isn't necessarily saying anything.
I go to Aldi and Tesco most often. Good Clubcard offers in Tesco - why, I came out the other day with half-price mince pies, Lavazza Oro coffee with a quid off, and a couple of jars of Patak's sauce for a quid apiece!

Commodities are breaking price records. Energy prices have gone through the roof and also freight prices have increased 7 fold over the period of just one year.

Yeah, I know. I just wanted to blame Brexit. It does play its part, THO Not sure how. Duties haven't changed. There is a bit more hassle getting goods in and out of the country but I would doubt that would translate to price increases
