It's great! and it made me laugh. Completely new to me. I don't know why, but even at its short length it felt a bit longer - maybe that's what you get sometimes with bright and breezy pop like that. But it's very much my kind of thing. I really like it when bands have absolutely nothing to say  I haven't done any research but there's a German band from around 1968 (the name eludes me right now) who were making very similar sounds. The near-falsetto vocal, the phasing in the background, the DIDDLE-DE-DEE bits between the verses. Maybe they're related. |

Interesting to hear a Donny song from an era I love that was new for me. It's very Stevie isn't it? Indeed it sounds more like Wonder than Hathaway. Whilst there are elements I like - the jazzy chords, funky clavinet (I think) - the track is little too schmalzy for me ( not a great lover of Christmas tracks generally) and doesn't quite work for me. Thanks though!
Will post a track for someone a little later.

It's too one note, this type of thing really lives and dies by the fire the musicians bring, the passion of the vocals, and this seems to lack any of that. |
