Catching up...
I honestly couldn't find anything 'canon worthy' from 2011, so I'm skipping to:
2012
and this BANGER

2014
Not too many candidates for 2014 to be honest, but Scott 0)))'s Brando fits the bill as a majestic swansong.

2014 The War On Drugs - An Ocean In Between the Waves
A most enjoyable album, I especially love the way they build multiple instrumental layers with unexpected sounds over rather simple chord sequences. It has stayed among my faves since first listen.
(Checking some 2014 best albums lists I was curious about St. Vincent, which I had not heard before today. I found it amazing, probably a keeper, but I would need some more time with it to have it 'canonised')

2013
I almost gave up on 2013 until I was reminded that these guys released an album that year. Polvo were one of my favourites in the 90's and they had a decent return to form in the 2010s, so I'll nominate this one (I was tempted to go for the more epic "Water Wheel", but this one's a bit more immediate):
Polvo - Light, Raking

2014
Another dud of a year - there are several things that I considered, but none seemed canon-worthy (King Gizzard, Spoon, etc.), so I'll chuck a bit of modern LA hardcore into the mix:
OFF! - Void You Out

I'm jumping to...
2015
A very good year with excellent albums from Courtney Barnett, Ryley Walker, Sufjan Stevens. Kamasi Washington, Kurt Vile and Joanna Newsom amongst others, but I'm going back to Sweden with this woozy, reverb-drenched late-night-vibed tune from Dungen:
Dungen - En Gång Om Året

Well, if we're moving on to 2015, I'm going to pick Roots Manuva. I remember hearing this track on BBC 6 Music, and it's such a rare occasion these days to hear a song on the radio which hits you immediately. It's fairly simple, as the best pop songs often are, but its use of that Barry White sample is perfection; it just has that great soulful undercurrent with superb backing vocals, gives it a real sense of a spiritual uplift.

Everytime Boots was my runner-up choice for this year. Pure pop at its best.

You beat me to it, G (though Feel You would have been my pick, still might be)

Ok, I'll go for this instead
2015
Courtney Barnett - Illustration of Loneliness
Another 'new artist album' that left me wishing for more. And her next release met expectations I must say.
