I HATE videos like this, but it does provide a little context - and for those who want 'em, there are comments on the YT page (most of them typically dumb):

Around 1986 or 87, I was living in Hoboken, NJ, home of Frank Sinatra, and was walking home from Pier Platters down Washington Street, the main drag. I saw an odd looking person walking towards me. He was extremely tall and extremely thin, with heavy mascara and dreadlocks. He was wearing a fishnet shirt and what looked like fireman’s boots. He was most likely heading towards the record store. A year or so later, when Jane’s Addicions second album came out, I realized who he was.

Who among us hasn’t dreamed of punching Dave Navarro.

Lol, same. There is something about his stare when he is talking in interviews that makes me feel creeped out.





Anyway, I hope the stages for the rest of their tour are big enough to accommodate the possible restraining orders coming up.

The band issued an apology, and cancelled the following night's show.

“We want to extend a heartfelt apology for the events that unfolded last night,” the band wrote in its Instagram story. “As a result we will be cancelling tomorrow night’s show in Bridgeport,” followed by refund details.

Farrell's wife (oy) has gotten in on the act, for better or worse:

On Saturday morning, Etty Lou Farrell, the singer’s spouse, posted her own account of Friday night’s events, writing on her Instagram account that her husband was upset about the band’s sound levels drowning out his vocals, and that led to his assault on seemingly unsuspecting guitarist Dave Navarro. Etty Lou has complimentary words for how coolly Navarro handled the situation; he can be seen trying to keep Farrell at a distance and looking baffled, saying “What the fuck?” but otherwise keeping calm. On the other hand, she lays into bassist Eric Avery for “cheap shots” in allegedly putting the singer into a headlock and punching him three times — something that wasn’t clear from widely disseminated fan video of the onstage altercation.

She mentions a sore throat and tinnitus (name me one musician - or even music lover - of any real vintage who doesn't have it), and...I have to assume that an operation of that size has all systems in place for strategic monitoring, custom in ear devices, etc. If they were some unknown, no hope band, playing someone's basement, I could see the issues about stage volume and monitoring having some merit, but...in this moment, I may be more focused on "as Farrell continued to swig from a bottle of wine throughout the show".

Yeah - he looks like he's looking for trouble in the video, barking at the audience and pushing Navarro in the shoulder for no obvious reason.

It's a bit odd that Dave N is the one coming off better here (even according to Farrell's wife!)
