I would rate them in this order FOM RIL More Songs SIT Name of Then 77 SMS Little Creatures Aren't a fan of the other two. Also think Byrne's solo stuff is forgetful. Do like My Bush of Ghosts which he did with Eno/ Yes! Perfect ranking there, npht. FOM is wondrous, that rare thing - a perfect album. Their work with Eno is where it’s really at, the rhythms and interlocking grooves, the tunes, the nervous energy of Byrne in step and perfectly apposite - wonderful stuff. Their later, polite and mainstream stuff (last three records) is listenable - good, even - but not in the same postcode.

I think that Eno participation was much needed, IMO the first album would have needed an external eye to refrain Byrne from some excesses, there are some excellent tracks there (Love Has Come to Town, Phycho Killer, Pulled Up, Don't Worry About the Government) but most of the rest is quite stinky. I'm a bit surprised about the love it's getting here, I'd rate it below the last three.

Is it just me, or does anybody else have a liking for Jerry Harrison's Casual Gods album? 'Rev It Up' is a bit dumb lyrically but the groove is just so catchy, and musically i think the whole of the album has a lot going for it.

I went with the first five, though I would have loved to have included "Stop Making Sense."

my knee jerks to the first four. I'm not crazy about "speaking in tongues" but I used it to round out my 5. I thought I was going to take "the name of this band..." but, you know what? I never listen to it. I think it's a good enough live album but I don't really get the urge to hear it very often. "speaking" doesn't really grab me in the song-writing department but, man, that band could hit a groove!
I'm very fond of Byrne's "Songs from the Catherine Wheel" - I think it's his creative last gasp in a lot of ways. It seems to me, after that one, that he needs to dig for inspiration like truffles. I still like a lot of what he does but I think that guy was on fire for a while.
the zeitgeist reliably drops them like a hot potato. eventually "wild wild life" will be a TV theme song or some shit and then we'll have the pleasure of eventually dropping them like a hot potato again.
few brand new record albums got me as excited as "more songs..." did. I liked 77 but the "treatments", the tight band, the lyrical concerns... it remains one of my favorites of a decade rupturing with favorites.

It's funny but they seemed to be forgotten about for a long time but I now I see them talked about more and more.
It feels like they have crossed over perhaps to a younger audience.
These days I would go with Buildings and Fear.

This pretty much echoes my point of view too. I sure listened a lot to Speaking in Tongue back in the day. Am I the only one who likes Little Creatures?
