But I like Poundland!
Certainly a reduced pack of rich teas is preferable to fucking Flower.

This is a good thread analysing the Labour party potentially led by Keir Starmer

I'm thinking of the irony of having a Labour leader (if KS is elected) who behaves with more decorum and is more 'attired' than the Tory equiv

For sure. He will win the Remain/Lib Dem vote immediately. But whether he can regain Scotland and trad Lab heartlands is the big question.

I followed the debates and votes in the house relating to Brexit very closely. What I don't know much about are the individuals in the Labour party and what they stand for. However, I did really enjoy Jess Phillips' contributions to the debates. She struck me as no-nonsense and refreshing. I see some of the comments on the tweet below suggest she isn't right for Leadership but on the face of it* she looks good to me
*Except for image. She really has to lose some of those rough presentational issues. She looks like a supply teacher who's been called in at the last minute. Irrelevant in some ways but it is a position in which you need to be able to sell yourself.

Yes, I agree with that.
There's a bit of a cult thing around Jess, a LOT of people follow her on Twitter and she's extremely popular with a certain type of voter. She is certainly likeable.
But I think of her as something between a comedian, a kind of Brummie Kathy Burke, and a no-nonsense politician. And although she's bright, I'm not sure she's a great - or even good - orator.
I'd be happy if she was elected leader but I'd still prefer Lisa Nandy, who's calmer and more articulate.

I think part of it is the gobby "working class woman" schtick that appeals to some as if she's an authentic working class voice or summat.
I liked the fact that she was openly critical of Corbyn but she wasn't principled enough, especially on anti-semitism, to actually leave the party despite stating that the party's response was pathetic.
She's a socialist too so economically is in the same ballpark which won't help her.
But...I still kinda like her but reckon she's rather out of her depth for the top job.
