Think about what's at stake. Why would they choose to level these accusations at the royal f if they weren't true? I'm holding off from saying any more until I see the interview tonight. You're going to watch it?
It only encourages them, you know.
Just to clarify, by 'them' I meant the whole fucking circus, not any particular section of it.

Good luck to him. He's revealing (I hope anyway, although I have a feeling the interview might be quite anodyne) the whole rotten, dysfunctional nature of them, just like his mother did and the establishment types don't like it.

They are dysfunctional - in terms of their structure, the levels of deference etc, they cannot be anything else than dysfunctional when compared to a "normal" family, whatever a "normal" family is.
Whether they are "rotten" is another matter.
Short answer - I don't think the institution of the Monarchy is going away any time soon and they remain as popular as ever. Whether this makes any sort of dent in people's faith in them remains to be seen. I suspect in the USA, yes, but here, not at all.

Blimey G I don't have much time for the royals but his mother was one of the most hypocritical members of the whole lot of them. There were three of us in our marriage she famously said. Poor love got over it with Harry's dad and knee tremblers in the gym with the captain of the England rugby team. She exposed Charles for making a mistake and loving female centaur. The public sympathy never stopped when she carried and gave birth to another man's child . The establishment types are all fucked up , power and privelige seem to do that. Diana, Megs and Harry running to the public through the media that they claim destroyed them and somehow claiming some sort of moral high ground is absurd. Christ G.

She was no saint, but she was treated abysmally by The Royal Family in my view. I have no time for them either, we should just get rid of them, but that's unlikely to happen any time soon.

She gave as good as she got I think. Opening supermarkets and bridges is one thing but I don't want or see the need for feeding the media or hoping that the great unwashed need to feel anything but contempt. It wouldn't surprise me if she yanked the handbrake in that tunnel .

I found the media fawning over her, and her subsequent post death sainthood, all a bit nauseating. But I don't share your hatred of her.

Diana eh? Has so much ever been projected onto so little?

In a way the hyperbolic reaction to her death and all those public displays of grief over someone who didn't really deserve it was a sign of things to come in culture. An oversensitivity. People losing their minds over nothing. Very odd.

"The dictatorship of grief" as Peter Hitchens acidly and accurately put it.
"The people's princess"
YAK
In fairness, it was easy to be beguiled by her. She had star quality OOZING from every pore. It's the same with Meghan I feel.

The day of her funeral, I went for a walk with the then-dog Sally in glorious sunshine. No other fucker about.

I saw her as manipulative , vain and quite unpleasant. Some of the royals see the firm as being about duty, bully for them. Diana and Meghan think they are part of a Hollywood studio existence. They just want to be the star. Give it a couple of years and the American jet setters will be bored of the H&M bleatfest. The story they tell is not enough to make them A list dinner party guests . It isn't much of a product really and it's been peddled to the max.
