Ambrose Evans-Pritchard talked yesterday in the Telegraph about the precautionary principle in Europe, which is causing problems.

When i heard about the lastest clash, it had to do with trade not vaccines.

I thought that was an excellent opinion piece tbh..AEP can waffle somewhat but he's right about the very serious problems that have been caused by the European leaders - both Merkel and Macron in particular - having 'issues' with the vaccines. France in particular is a country with a relatively high rate of scepticism, so when your leader turns round and is also sceptical, don't be surprised when no-one wants it.
I said at the start of Covid that it might unravel the EU. If they don't pull themselves together in the next 6 months - particularly for summer - then it could well accelerate.

RIGHT LAUGHS at CDG, Malpensa and Tegel this summer.
Unfortunately I think it's another high season where it's best to stay put.

And here was me fantasing about somewhere warm in autumn, maybe Bologna or Lisbon again for a few days away. A cold beer, a nice sandwich, groups of young dark skinned lasses sashaying by. Bella! Bella! Some old guy in a shop door, lined oaked face, passionately snouting away whilst smirking knowingly at the parade of beauties walking by.
Cheers EU. This is bullshit. This is a joke. I voted Remain but the last year has left a very nasty taste in my mouth and left me feeling, truthfully, like fuck these guys.

Article is a joke IMHO. It's comes across as a "Britain is right and sensible, EU is just aloof", nothing new there. I particularly liked the author's American view of europe as one country, and the "EU is shite, but they did do this good thing that contributedto helping the crisis, but they're still shite, but they did do this other good thing, but still, they're shit even though they did more to help than us". Also WW2 is over, yes one of the vaccines came from jerry....i mean germany, but we can't give the jerrys any credit, it was a turkish immigrant who created it (Turkey's in the very thing the author is giving out about). Of course if said immigrant came to Britain, the author would still mention that, of course and not call them British. That article couldn't be more british.

The EU. Oh they like Boris! I dunno. He seems like a talkative and nice enough cab driver who you find out shafted you on a more extended cab ride than you needed to take and you only find out at your destination. I think leaving the EU is the UK's worst economic decision ever. Except for a couple of the larger countries, the EU isn't doing especially great and it's more of a misery loves company scenario, but at least it consolidated what powers countries had even though most were like remora on a shark.

They're not fully out, and independent no matter what some might say.

I do find its tub-thumping nationalist sub-text pretty unhelpful. However I think its criticisms of European responses to the vaccine have some validity. Those responses seem more grounded in politics than science from what I've been reading.
