Damn, one a day just isn't enough! You're not wrong. I've consoled myself these past two days with the thought that saving my abundant enthusiastic choices for subsequent days will give me something to look forward to, and allow me to really savor them. Shit - someone else may even come along and offer the same selections I've been keeping in my back pocket (completely fine by me). I'm glad G went the way he did with this - you never want the whole crew sort of "info dumping" (which can become overwhelming, daunting, and ultimately lower impact).

I was going to post this one. But I can never decide if I like the original or the longer-remake better. It’s kinda like the Magna Carta of Chicago Soul.

It's so rare that anyone re-does their own song that much later and even comes within miles of the original, let alone can actually compete with it! In fact, I think I prefer the re-make, but the original is so good, too.

But this is a Chicago Soul thread, and it's just past midnight here so I get to post this beauty that I still have on a single.

I do like "Colours", though.

Probably as late as the thread will go, but...a beauty. Contains many of the personnel from these first two pages, and - naturally - a Charles Stepney co-write (the melody and chords are his).
