As it happens I sold a 12inch double to an Aussie today, and the postage and tax more than doubled the £12 cost, but he took it in his stride. Regular buyers are just used to it. The problem with what discogs want is CDs and boxes really. They come in such an assortment of weights and sizes you can't really legislate ahead for every possibility: it's not just the postage, it's the different levels of packaging required. I suppose you could just inflate your standard rate to take in every possibility, but that's hardly a help for buyers, is it? No, it's a tricky one. The price we charge for the item is actually the 'arbitrary' thing, isn't it? it's the postage which can't be changed. So I sometimes say 'let's call it £20 and I'll post it tomorrow'. IF they've proven to be friendly sorts.

After not getting any offers for several weeks, some fella in Switzerland has just ordered EIGHT CDs from me.
How do you package EIGHT CDs? I'm used to sending individual discs, sometimes two, in small Jiffy bags.

Yeah, a box makes sense. I'll bubble wrap them and stick them in a box.
And then there's postage to Switzerland.

It's sorting out postage costs as well tho' G, as you know.
I might tell this fella I can't manage it. Fuck it. He's got some dodgy feedback actually.

Which isn't heavy! In the UK the costs only really go up when you're sending something over 2 kg.

Well everything has VAT. I'm just saying that sending fairly light, small items to Europe doesn't cost that much.
