what does zero rated mean for VAT? A rate of 0%, effectively no VAT (for the time being).

Dickhead placed an order 4 days ago, I'm still waiting for payment. He hasn't replied to messages or emails either. And yet I can't cancel the order until 4 full days have passed, according to Discogs.

Give him a week or so, John: people forget, don't check their mail, lose their phone, get ill, have to deal with emergencies, crises. Check his feedback to see if he has a history of late payment, which counts as an automatic negative so shows up there. I've cancelled a few for non-payment, but always cancel the negative feedback and send them an email explaining what I'd done. In a couple of cases they got back to me, explainedwe did the deal, and I got great feedback.

OK - I'll give him another couple of days. He's new to Discogs so that might explain it.

In the US, amazon is not taking on new vendors, thus it has created a situation where certain vendors are inflating prices usually around $977, seems to be a favorite. So this has pushed new listings on Discogs sometimes realistic, sometimes inflated. Whilst on amazon it has created counter sellers who list at somewhat higher than normal but much cheaper than the inflators.

Not directly at the moment, but otherwise always sold/traded. Have been looking at what I have and considering unloading cd's/boxes and much later, vinyl. Just not sure how active/engaged i want to be. I have lots of options/contacts, but what is simplest/ most direct appeals, that is why I watch these and other threads with interest. With something like Discogs, and less so with Amazon, etc., descriptive language is soooooo important. I just don't want to get sucked into a quagmire, because i forgot to mention a creased booklet.

Been selling since January but just ordered my first LPs a couple of days ago (Gentle Giant and The Association, if you're interested). Good prices and (they say) good condition, each around seven quid, just a couple of quid postage. And everyone's so FUSSED about good feedback so they bend over backwards to do right by you.
I wouldn't dream of buying vinyl anywhere else. Certainly not the high street.

I have had some horrendous Discogs vinyl buying experiences, that wound up as standoffs, each agreed no feedback, refund, discount given, mis-graded. I have a series of excellent stores that price and grade properly so i am spoiled.
