This popped into my head earlier today, and i wanted to share.
Ruby Johnson - Weak Spot
A Volt single from '66 i think, written by Cropper-Porter-Hayes and brilliantly played by the Stax crew. I love its moody verses and the uplifting, exuberant change into the chorus.

when i first visited the US back in the mid-80s the first gig i saw was mose allison. he was playing at a wine bar in LA with only about 15 people in attendance! we were seated at a table right next to him. very surreal experience.
i think he was loved more in the UK than in the US. certainly, the gigs of his i saw in the UK were always sold out.

Marianne Faithful's guitar player is the lone composer of this song (the only one on Broken English that this is true of) so it seems only fair that (imo) he does it better:
